IGR Lecturer Timothy Corvidae Wins Faculty Development Grant

IGR is proud to announce a grant award for IGR Lecturer Timothy Corvidae. Timothy holds appointments in IGR, The Global Scholars Program, and The Center for Global and Intercultural Studies (CGIS).

Corvidae recently won a Faculty Development Fund grant through the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, for his project entitled "Leveraging Online Technologies to Facilitate Intercultural Learning with Students Studying Abroad". The project's purpose is to consult with leading study abroad and online learning experts in order to develop a new kind of course called "UC286: Reflective Intercultural Study".

Timothy's goal is to design a course that "leverages synchronous and asynchronous, interactive, online platforms to deliver just-in-time intercultural learning resources and assignments that students can tailor to the experiences they are having while on study abroad." In other words, this is an opportunity to use the internet to allow UM instructors to foster deeper and more integrative learning from Ann Arbor while students are abroad.

We will provide updates as the course is developed.
