Requirements to earn a Minor in Intergroup Relations Education:
Minimum 19 credits, Maximum 22 credits

  • Foundation Core Courses:
    • ALA/PSYCH/SOC 122: Intergroup Dialogues (3 credits)
    • ALA 220/PSYCH/SOC 218: Foundations of Intergroup Relations (3 credits)
  • Praxis Core Courses: You must choose ONE track of the following courses that focus on experience with pedagogies of engagement and interactions and on gaining skills in working with such pedagogies.
    • TRACK ONE: Facilitative Leadership
      • ALA/SOC 320, PSYCH 310: Training Processes of Intergroup Dialogue Facilitation (3 credits)
      • UC/SOC 321, PSYCH 311: Practicum in Facilitating Intergroup Dialogues (4 credits)
    • TRACK TWO: Campus Communities and Research
      • Research Methods Course (SOC 210 or STATS 250 or STATS 280) (4 credits)
      • Campus Community Course (ALA 421 or ALA 329) (2 or 3 credits)
      • IGR Research Practicum (F15 listed under ALA 329) (2 credits)
  • LSA Elective Course (3 or 4 credits)
  • Senior Capstone Course
    • ALA 429/SOC 471, PSYCH 411: Social Justice in the Real World (3 credits)
