The Program Assistant supports the function of the Programming Team by keeping updated the Student Voice and Access databases, assisting in preparing for retreats, monthly meetings, workshops, and other events, and maintaining Common Ground materials. The office assistant also manages interview logistics during recruitment of new facilitators, attends monthly meetings, and assists other programming team members in daily operations.

Max Cornblath:

Max Cornblath is a junior in the College of Language, Science and Arts at the University of Michigan. He is currently pursuing a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Complex Systems. During his time as an undergraduate he has been involved in several student organizations, all related in some way to learning through other people's perspectives, encouraging difficult conversations, and affecting social and policy change. These include The Spectrum Center Advocacy Board, MAC-ASB (an alternative spring break service-learning organization) and IGR CommonGround, where he is now proud to be a member of the programming team. In his free time, Max is a member of SWAM, the club swimming team, and enjoys reading and watching netflix.

Request a Workshop

                                                                           ***ATTENTION***

We will accept workshop requests for the Fall semester (workshops held between October- December 2017) beginning August 1st. CommonGround does not schedule workshops for the month of September because we use this time to recruit and train our new facilitators.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to working with you!

  • Requests must be submitted three (3) weeks prior to the intended workshop date.
  • The general purpose of these workshops is to create interactive spaces to engage in dialogue about social justice and social identity. If your organization is seeking mediation, the Office of Student Conflict Resolution (www.oscr.umich.edu) or Student Activities and Leadership's Student Organization Support (http://www.lso.umich.edu/sOrgs/sos.html) can serve as resources
