Elisa Vega

Graduate Student Intern, CommonGround
Bio

Elisa is graduate interns for CommonGround at The Program on Intergroup Relations. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in higher education with a focus in student access and success with the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan. Elisa has found CommonGround to be a place of meaningful connection and new lessons as she hopes to work in postsecondary spaces with underrepresented students in the future. Elisa is interested in learning more about the importance of diverse cultures, dialogue, and transformative social change in postsecondary spaces and how professionals can make space for students who have historically been excluded from these spaces. Before coming to Michigan, Elisa worked as a business immigration paralegal and graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in education and social policy, where she also studied Latinx studies.
