As the fall semester begins, Dialogue Michigan is rolling out an exciting slate of fall workshops and previewing what's to come in winter 2027, giving University of Michigan faculty and staff a chance to plan their dialogue skill-building for the coming year.
Campus dialogue education continues to draw national attention, and dialogic skills carry value in every role and across all areas of life, in the classroom and beyond. Incubated at The Program on Intergroup Relations, Dialogue Michigan builds capacity among University of Michigan faculty and staff to engage one another in difficult conversations.
Across the series' sixteen workshops and special events from September through May, U-M and national experts and practitioners will address foundational dialogue and facilitation skills, workplace culture and conflict, identity and generational difference, and emerging topics such as advising in the age of generative AI.
The year concludes with the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center's 2027 biennial conference, May 24-27, hosted at U-M by Dialogue Michigan, IGR, and the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Two sessions earlier in the academic year are also offered in partnership with the DDNRC.
