IGR's own Dr. Adrienne Dessel recently participated in a U-M Frankel Center for Judaic Studies event called Conversations on Community, Identity, and Israel: Making Sense of the Pew Portrait of Jewish Americans.

Dr. Dessel was part of a distinguished panel of U-M scholars and community leaders along with Rabbi Irwin Kula, president of the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership. The discussion centered around issues raised by the recent Pew Research Center Survey of American Jews and its resulting report, A Portrait of Jewish Americans.

Panelists included U-M professors David Schoem (an IGR Founder), Deborah Dash Moore, Karla Goldman, and Adrienne Dessel, University of Michigan students, and University of Michigan Hillel executive director, Tilly Shames.
