Penny Kane and Maria Tarakhovsky were honored on March 21, 2023 with UM-Dearborn's Social Justice Advocate Award. Both Kane and Tarakhovsky have facilitated dialogues in ALA 171, Making the Most of Michigan, with The Program on Intergroup Relations. The award, part of the Dearborn Difference Student Leadership Awards, recognizes individuals for their demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity and social justice at UM-Dearborn and in the local community.
