1 CREDIT | IN-PERSON | FIRST/SECOND-YEAR STUDENTS
Life Design for Wolverines provides you with a foundation in design thinking and the tools you need to design academic, career, and life experiences, on your timeline, that align with who you are, including your values and social identities, who you want to become, and the impact you want to have in life. You will develop connections with peers through class discussions and activities, and by sharing your experiences with assignments.
Specifically, you will:
- Use Life Design process, mindsets, and tools to create a journey map of college, career, and life experiences, for now.
- Embrace and navigate uncertainty with curiosity.
- Deepen self-understanding by exploring social identities, values and decision-making
- Build relationships with others and strengthen communication skills across differences and commonalities
- Apply a problem-solving framework to grow as leaders in the diverse UM community and to generate solutions for real-world problems
- Create 3 future life plans (Odyssey Plans), with wellbeing as a foundation
- Interact and build connections with alums and professionals
- Know at least one action item for positive social change and how it contributes to career development
