Intergroup Dialogues for Faculty & Staff

Column 1

Join our interest list

Through our winter semester staff and faculty dialogues, U-M staff and faculty have the opportunity to engage in eight 90-minute intergroup dialogue sessions facilitated by IGR faculty.

This initiative is intended for U-M faculty and staff, and attendance at all sessions is expected. In this intergroup dialogue on race, participants will explore their own identities, build relationships across different identities and learn about pertinent issues facing social identity groups through the lens of race. Participants will engage in open and constructive dialogue, learn about themselves and others, and explore issues concerning intergroup relations, conflict, and social justice. Ultimately, the goal is for participants to develop greater intergroup empathy, develop skills to collaborate across difference, and tools to participate in social change.
