Roger B. Fisher will serve as interim co-director of The Program on Intergroup Relations, effective August 16, 2025.
Roger, who has most recently been an associate director, will take on the interim position following the retirement of Monita Thompson this August. Announcing the selection to the Division of Student Life, associate vice president Connie Tingson Gatuz praised Fisher.
“Roger brings a wealth of experience and skill to this role,” said Tingson Gatuz. "Roger and Donna will jointly manage the program, continuing to advance IGR’s legacy of impact."
Fisher will share leadership responsibilities with faculty co-director Donna Rich Kaplowitz, overseeing IGR and ensuring continuity during the transition period.
With decades of service and teaching in student affairs, intergroup relations education, and intergroup dialogue, Roger assumes the job well-prepared to co-lead the program and manage its Student Life staff and budget lines. Before coming to IGR in 2002 and his promotion to associate director in 2006, Roger also worked in Student Activities & Leadership (now Center for Campus Involvement) and the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs.
